Yummy Mummy - Babyliss pro 230 Elegance Review

For the past couple of months I had noticed my GHDs just hadn't been cutting the mustard. In fact seeing as though GHDs are suppose to be one of the best Straightener brands out there I have never been overly impressed with mine.
So the time had come to find some new ones. So after researching different brands and models on the internet I came across these which had lots and lots of good reviews so I decided to purchase them.

Here is what the Babyliss site says

  • Heats up to 230°C with three temperature settings for all hair types: 180°C, 200°C, 230°C
  • Ready to use in 15 seconds
  • Advanced Ceramics™ technology gives ultra-fast heat recovery to ensure constant high heat performance
  • 1" super shine titanium-ceramic plates for a smooth, sleek finish
  • 25 % longer plates for fast styling
  • Ionic technology for frizz-free shine
  • Multi-voltage for worldwide use
  • Luxury storage pouch
  • Heat proof mat
  • Auto shut-off
  • 3m salon length cord

First of all aren't they pretty? They are a beautiful sleek nude pink colour and come with a stylish pouch to keep them in, but to be honest I think I may use this as a clutch bag as I have a dress that this will go lovely with!

Anyway enough about the prettiness lets get on to the important stuff, like do they actually work. Yes they do! The straighteners have 3 different heat settings depending on your hair type. Number 1 for very fine hair or if your hair only needs a quick going over. Number 2 for medium thickness hair and for hair that has been coloured (this is the setting I use) and then Number 3 is for thick to afro hair.

After 15 seconds you are ready to go, I love how smoothly these glide through your hair. I hate, hate, hate straighteners that tug and pull your hair but these are just perfect no tugging at all.
With my GHDs I found that I still had to go over the same chunk of hair quite a few times but with these I find twice is enough, which cuts the time it takes to do your hair. Perfect for Mummys who don't have ages to sit and straighten their hair.

These straighteners have Ionic technology which helps to tame frizz and make your hair lovely and shiny. Now do beaware these do make a buzzing noise don't be worried that they are faulty, this is the noise they are suppose to make to show it is working.

Would I recommend these? You bet I would, I would tell you to get these over a pair of GHDs any day. Plus these were only a fraction of the price, I got mine from Argos at only £31.99.

Marks out of 10? I would give these 8.5 I have only had them a short time but already it's love. Apparently these are brilliant for curling too but I have not tried this yet so maybe if I can achieve curls with them they would be well on their way to 10/10.
